All Providers: Changes to the National Paid Parental Leave Arrangements

Starting from 1 July 2024, the Paid Parental Leave scheme will extend by two weeks, increasing the total entitlement to 22 weeks. This duration will further expand to 24 weeks in July 2025 and reach 26 weeks from July 2026. Additionally, the ‘use it or lose it’ reserved leave will rise to 4 weeks by July 2026, mandating that each parent must use this amount to fully benefit from the scheme. Single parents will be eligible for the entire period of leave, including future increases.
