NSW NDIS and Child Safety Providers – Legislative Update: Portable Long Service Leave Legislation Passed for the NSW Community Sector

Further to our update in September last year, on June 20, 2024, the NSW Government passed the Community Services Sector (Portable Long Service Leave) Act 2024. This legislation will allow community services workers to access paid long service leave based on how long they have been employed in the sector, instead of how long they have worked for a single employer. The Scheme itself will commence in about 12 months’ time.
