Behaviour Support Practitioners – Positive Behaviour Support and Use of Restrictive Practices Policy and Procedure (QLD Only)

This policy and procedure has been created in response to auditors’ feedback, who are increasingly wanting to see the responsibilities of positive behaviour support practitioners and implementing providers split into separate documents. The Behaviour Support Practitioners – Positive Behaviour Support and Use of Restrictive Practices Policy and Procedure should be used by behaviour support practitioners creating positive behaviour support plans, including plans that include restrictive practices.

In addition to splitting responsibilities out, we’ve taken this opportunity to include additional clarifying information about Queensland’s behaviour support plan authorisation requirements, and incorporate relevant Positive Behaviour Support information and responsibilities, so providers using the new policy and procedure can also repeal and archive their previous Positive Behaviour Support Policy and Procedure.
